It’s a triple-header on Saturday as the main team returns to action, with our Reserves and Youth sides playing earlier in the day.
With all three teams chasing precious points in the critical final stages of the season, an exciting day of football awaits across our setup.
Here is how the action unfolds for us this weekend:
SATURDAY
8:00 – Yizoyizo vs Ekhaya Youth
Fresh from a 6–1 demolition of Ndirande Dortmund last weekend, our juniors return to the same turf of Mpira Stadium for their 16th league assignment against the Mbayani Township outfit Yizoyizo.
We won the reverse fixture 3–2, courtesy of Chisomo Paika’s strike and a Depay Banda brace.
Seven places now separate the two teams, with each chasing different targets in the FCB Katswiri U-20 Football League.
A win for the hosts will keep them steady in 10th, while our fourth-placed lads will be aiming for three points that could lift them into second.
11:00 – Ekhaya Reserves vs Tigers Reserves
After last weekend’s fixture was cancelled, the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football League reigning champions return to action at home against Tigers Reserves.
Sitting third and five points behind leaders Chilobwe United, the young Cowboys will be pushing for nothing less than a win to keep their title defence on track.
They won the first-round encounter 2–0, with goals from Samson Zakeyu and captain Fatsani Juwayo but the champions are winless in two and will have to be their best to earn the right of completing the double over Saturday's visitors.
Meanwhile, the visitors come into this one with plenty to prove as they chase consistency in a campaign they have largely occupied mid-table positions.
14:30 – Ekhaya FC vs Chitipa United
The Cowboys return from the international break with a home test against the Inkhalamu Zga Ku Chitipa in the TNM Super League of Malawi at the same turf.
With top-8 ambitions firmly in sight, this is a crucial fixture ahead of a more challenging run-in.
The two sides are separated by just a point: Chitipa sit 9th with 32 points from 24 games, while the Cowboys occupy 8th with 33 points from 22 matches.
Revenge will also be on our minds after falling 1–0 in the reverse leg.
