Silver Success for Ekhaya Duo at COSAFA U-20 Cup
Ekhaya FC Reserves stars Yusuf Namtunga and Precious Manjawira have returned from the 2025 COSAFA Men’s U-20 Cup in Namibia as finalists and silver medal winners with the Junior Flames.
Malawi topped Group A after an unbeaten run, opening the campaign with a 2-1 win over Zimbabwe, drawing 1-1 with Angola, and beating Namibia 2-0 to seal top spot.
After a spirited 2-1 semi-final win over Zambia, Malawi fell 3-0 in the final to a strong South African side.

The slick and exciting midfielder was central to Malawi’s campaign. A constant creative spark, Yusuf, wearing shirt number 19, featured in all the five matches, underlining his importance and earning the tag of an undroppable for the Junior Flames.
(Precious Manjawira)
Commanding at the back, the towering centre-back impressed throughout the tournament.With number 15 on his back, he proved to be solid in duels and composed on the ball. Precious was recognized for his efforts by being named in the Group Stage Best XI together with Flames teammate Mwisho Mhango. With Mhango, our center back went on to be included in the final best eleven of the tourney.
Looking ahead
With silver medals around their necks, Namtunga and Manjawira now shift focus back to the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football Leag ue, as Ekhaya Reserves continue their push for top spot.
