Report: Rampant Cowboys Run Riot at Mpira Stadium!

Ekhaya FC returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion, hammering Songwe Border United 4-1 at Mpira Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Moses Banda opened the scoring with a low drive from range before new signing Levison Mnyenyembe blasted home a rocket to double the lead. Moments later, Alick Lungu made it 3-0 with a composed finish, capping off a dominant first-half display.

What happened
The Cowboys were ruthless from the onset, finding the back of the net three times within the opening half hour to put the contest well beyond the visitors’ reach.

Moses Banda opened the scoring with a low strike from outside the box,  his first home goal and second since joining the club. Moments later, new signing Levison Mnyenyembe marked his home debut in style, blasting home a rocket from distance to double the advantage.

It got even better when Alick Lungu, in fine form this season, calmly slotted in his third goal of the campaign to make it 3-0. The visitors were on the ropes, and only some desperate defending kept the scoreline from growing before the break.

Just three minutes into the second half, Emmanuel Saviel made it 4-0 from the penalty spot after Mnyenyembe was brought down in the box.

Despite Ekhaya’s dominance, Songwe Border United showed resilience and managed to pull one back through Moses Joseph, who converted a penalty in the 76th minute.

The Cowboys continued to create chances and could have added more, but the match ended 4-1, a commanding performance and a crucial victory.

What it means
The win lifts Ekhaya FC to 29 points from 19 games, reigniting their push up the TNM Super League table. Meanwhile, Songwe Border United remain bottom, still searching for their first win of the season.

What the coach said
