MATCH REPORT | Ekhaya Youth Hit Six in a Statement Victory

Ekhaya Youth delivered a ruthless and high-scoring display as they thrashed Ndirande Dortmund 6-1 in an FCB Katswiri U20 Football League match played on Sunday morning at Mpira Stadium.

Super-sub Chisomo Paika fired a five-minute hat-trick, with Depay Banda grabbing a brace and Hope Mustaffa waa also on the scoresheet.

What Happened
The match started at high intensity between two sides positioned eight places apart on the standings.

The Juniors struck first in the 7th minute through Hope Mustaffa, who curled in a well-taken free-kick.

In the 26th minute, Depay Banda doubled the advantage, capping off a brilliant passing move with a simple tap-in to send the Juniors into halftime leading 2-0.

The visitors pulled one back early in the second half after Maekha Juniors failed to clear a searching set-piece delivery.

But the response was emphatic.

Chisomo Paika restored the cushion not long after that, finishing off another flowing team attack. Five minutes later, he made it 4-1 with another tap-in after a sweeping move.

Paika then completed a remarkable five-minute hat-trick, pressing aggressively to dispossess the goalkeeper before firing home a predatory finish.

Two minutes later, Depay Banda added his second of the day to make it 1-6 , a fitting moment as the goal marked his 14th of the season for the player wearing number 14.

It could have been more but 1-6 it ended in favour of our lads.

What It Means
The emphatic win keeps Maekha Juniors firmly in 4th position on the log with 34 points from 18 matches. It also marks their biggest scoring output of the season and a significant confidence boost heading into the final stretch of the campaign.

What the Coach Said
Head coach Mphatso Chihami praised the team’s dominance but stressed the importance of consistency:

“It’s a big win today, the first time we have scored more than three goals. Now at this stage of the season we have to try to achieve consistency.”

Next
Chihami's boys will turn their attention to next weekend’s fixture where they face Nthutha FC in another league assignment.
