After a rough start to the second round, Ekhaya FC welcome Songwe Border United to Mpira Stadium on Saturday afternoon for their 19th TNM Super League match of the campaign.
The Cowboys will be stepping back onto Mpira Stadium for their first competitive match since January 15, the day they were crowned Southern Region Football League champions.
Form Guide
Both teams come into this clash desperate for a win.
Ekhaya FC: The Cowboys are winless in their last four matches and suffered a 2-1 defeat to Mafco FC in their most recent outing at Champion Stadium. Despite collecting 26 points in the first round, they are yet to pick up a single point since the restart. They now sit 6th on the log, slipping two places from where they finished the opening round.
Songwe Border United: The newly promoted side are still chasing their first-ever Super League victory. They remain rooted to the bottom of the table with just 2 points from 18 matches, both coming from draws. Their last outing ended in a 1-0 loss to Karonga United.
When the two sides met earlier this season at Karonga Stadium, goals from Christopher Gototo and Stanley Billiat secured a 2-1 victory for The Cowboys.
What’s at Stake
For Ekhaya: An opportunity to bounce back, end their poor run, and keep pressure on the teams above them.
For Songwe: A chance to finally break their winless streak since gaining promotion five months ago.
