Ekhaya Football Club will play host to Kamuzu Barracks on Wednesday at Mpira Stadium in what will be their 20th match of the TNM Super League season.
With the team looking to build on recent performances and push further up the table, head coach Enos Chatama shared his thoughts ahead of the encounter; from preparations and mentality to player availability and the expectations for fans.
The Work for Wednesday
We can say that we have worked hard for the game. We had a break for at least a week, and we believe the boys’ focus has now switched to the TNM Super League match against Kamuzu Barracks tomorrow.
The Opponents, Kamuzu Barracks
We cannot talk about the KB–Bullets game. Games differ , the way they will play Ekhaya and the way they played Bullets will be different. We are focused. KB are a good team which beat us 1–0 in Mponera in the first round. We have to be serious with the game.
The Mentality the Boys Must Wear
The mentality has to be positive. We need to be confident enough when we take them on tomorrow. Though we know it will be a tough game, we are ready.
On Happy Mphepo and Lewa Nkosi Missing
We are always ready to play with minus or plus. We signed a lot of players. We have never had a full squad since the start of this season. We have been winning and losing matches, no excuses tomorrow. We are going full throttle; the available players are going to do the job.
On Replicating Last Game’s Performance
We have lost points due to some factors, our own and external influences. All in all, we are ready to play football. We want to keep the momentum and maintain our rhythm so that we can survive relegation.
Word to Fans
They have to come and watch a good game. We have seen the way Kamuzu Barracks played Bullets, they are a good team, but we are also a good team. We expect the fans to come in large numbers.
