Chatama Calls for Focus and Resilience Ahead of Creck Away Test

Head Coach Enos Chatama has urged focus and resilience from his side as they prepare for Wednesday’s TNM Super League clash against Creck Sporting Club at Aubrey Dimba Stadium.

Speaking ahead of the fixture, Chatama reflected on the team’s recent run of games, highlighted key areas for improvement, and outlined the mindset required for what promises to be a tough away encounter.

Here is everything the gaffer said ahead of the midweek tie:

Approaching Wednesday's assignment...
We are ready, though there are signs of fatigue in the team after six back-to-back fixtures with two days in between the games. Quite bad for the team, but we just have to play the games, fulfil the fixtures, and finish the season.

On key changes needed to be made tomorrow...
The key change we want to see is defensive stability. We have not defended very well in the past three games; we conceded easy goals, give-away goals. This time around, we need to defend properly. The other area is in attack. We are creating chances, but we have not been converting them. This has been a major concern. We need to work on that, as you know there is not a lot of time to train. We cannot be losing games we are supposed to win.

On Wednesday's opponents...
It will be a tough game. They are coming from a 2-0 loss to Moyale FC, and we are also coming from a 2-0 loss to Bullets. We do not have to look at Creck's downfall at Moyale; we just have to look at our abilities and prepare for Creck.

On dominating fixtures against Elia Kananji...
It will be a different game altogether. I started playing Kananji a long time ago when he was at Blantyre United, when I had my own team, Bangwe Madrid . He never defeated me. He later came to Blue Eagles; I beat him in the cup when I was at Bullets Reserves. This time around, it is a different stage altogether.

This is the Super League, and Creck is a team that is good enough. We are all coming from disappointments, and everybody wants to put his record clear. It will not be an easy game; they are playing at their own base, which is a no-go zone. We have to prepare and win.

Team news
It has been tiresome. We have injuries and have left certain players at home. All in all, this is time for the battle. We cannot complain. We will use the available resources.

Word to fans
The fans have to come and cheer the team. It is a project; little by little, we are identifying the problems. We started highly in the first round. In the second round, we have slipped. This is the learning process; we have to improve from this season. The fans do not need to lose hope, we are building a good team.
