Match Report: Fomo FC 2-0 Ekhaya FC
Ekhaya FC’s final preseason test ended in a 2-0 defeat to Fomo FC at Mulanje Park on Sunday , bringing an end to an otherwise encouraging buildup to the new campaign.
What happened
The contest began on an even footing, with both sides showing intent early on.
Within the opening quarter, each team rattled the woodwork, signaling a lively encounter. Ekhaya gradually asserted control as the first half wore on, dominating possession and creating the clearer openings.
However, efforts from Chimwemwe Chunga, Moses Banda, and Allen Chihana failed to find the breakthrough, leaving the sides deadlocked at the interval.
Fomo returned from the break with renewed energy and took the lead in the 52nd minute. Peter Barry rose highest to meet a delivery into the box, heading home to put the hosts in front.
The goal shifted momentum, but Ekhaya responded with a series of changes that injected fresh intensity into their play.
The Cowboys pushed forward in search of an equalizer and carved out several promising chances, showing improved attacking cohesion.
Despite their efforts, the finishing touch remained elusive. As Ekhaya committed bodies forward late on, Fomo capitalized in the closing moments.
With just a minute left on the clock, Divason Daudi tapped in from close range after a delivery from the left flank, sealing the result for the hosts.
What it means
The defeat marks Ekhaya’s first loss of the preseason, concluding their preparations on a setback after a string of positive results.
