Ekhaya FC return to Mpira Stadium this afternoon for yet another stern examination as they host title-chasing Silver Strikers in a TNM Super League of Malawi fixture loaded with stakes on both ends of the table.
With only a handful of matches left before the curtain falls on the season, every point has become precious, and this clash has all the ingredients of a tense contest.
The State of Play
Silver Strikers arrive in Blantyre still mathematically in the title race. Their 53 points from 25 matches place them third, and with Big Bullets and Mighty Wanderers still within reach, the Bankers know nothing short of victory will keep their faint hopes alive.
They travel with form on their side too, unbeaten in seven league matches since their last loss in October.
For The Cowboys, the mission is different but equally important. Having already secured their place in the league in their maiden Super League campaign, Ekhaya now set their sights on finishing in the Top Eight, a statement that would underline a season of growth, resilience, and ambition.
Currently 6th on the log with 39 points from 26 games, a positive result this afternoon would strengthen their push for a strong finish.
The Reverse Fixture
The first meeting between these sides ended 3–1 in favour of Silver Strikers in Lilongwe, a result that will serve as added motivation for an Ekhaya side determined to show how far they’ve come.
Throughout the season, The Cowboys have competed well against the traditional top three, but the elusive first victory against one of them remains a box still waiting to be ticked.
This afternoon presents another opportunity, at home, in front of their supporters, against a thoroughbred opponent still with everything to play for.

From the Technical Bench
Head Coach Enos Chatama acknowledged the physical toll the schedule has had on his players:
“It has been a congested fixture schedule, which has affected the boys in terms of fatigue and recovery. They haven’t fully recovered from the long journeys and recent games, but all in all, the fixtures have been lined up this way and we have to go on the turf, take on Silver Strikers, and be ready for the challenge they pose.”
With bodies tired but spirits high, Ekhaya step onto the pitch knowing that performance, discipline, and the home ground advantage must combine if they are to halt Silver’s charge.
