Ekhaya FC return to Mpira Stadium this afternoon, hosting Moyale FC in Matchday 4 of the FDH Bank Premiership.
It’s early in the season, but the tone is already clear, this is a moment to respond for The Cowboys.
The Challenge
Moyale FC arrive in Blantyre sitting eighth, having made a balanced start to the campaign. The Lions of Kaning’ina have already shown their ability to compete, picking up a win, a draw and a defeat in their opening fixtures. Organised, hardworking, and disciplined, they will come with belief.
For Ekhaya, the picture is different.
Performances have been there. Results have not.
Just one point from three matches tells its own story, but beneath that sits a team creating chances, controlling spells, and pushing for more. The missing piece has been decisive moments, at both ends of the pitch.
Back on home soil, the objective is simple: turn control into outcome.
Momentum vs Response
While Moyale will look to build, Ekhaya have got their eyes on providing response.
And that contrast sets up a fixture where intent will matter just as much as execution.
Looking Back
Last season’s meetings offer no clear favourite.
Ekhaya produced a dominant 3-0 win at home, with Alick Lungu, Matamando Mwatchipisa and James Lumbe all on target.
But Moyale responded, a 2-1 cup victory in Rumphi, followed by another 2-1 win in the league in Mzuzu.
Given this, the tie is evenly matched, and finely balanced.
Team News
Ekhaya will be without Alick Lungu, who remains sidelined, while Luck Tizola misses out through illness.
The rest of the squad is available, and ready with Sholigah Stambuli making a return into the squad afywr missing out last weekend's outing.
From the Coach
Interim head coach Fundi Akidu has been clear on the focus:
“We are creating chances, now it’s time to start scoring.”
Preparation has centred on tightening up at set-pieces and finding the clinical edge in front of goal, small margins that can define outcomes.Match Officials
