Ekhaya FC can confirm that striker Christopher Kumwembe has successfully undergone surgery after sustaining a fractured tibia during training last Thursday.
The former Flames striker, who joined the Cowboys during the mid-season transfer window, has come through the operation successfully and will now begin his rehabilitation journey as he works towards a full recovery.
Kumwembe is expected to be sidelined for approximately eight weeks. Since joining the Cowboys, he has made two appearances, both coming off the bench.
In a touching show of solidarity, Kumwembe’s teammates dedicated a special moment to him ahead of kickoff in Sunday’s fixture, sending a powerful message that he remains part of the team, even in his absence.
